DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\n\n\nSOFIA – Winter School 2014\n\n\nThere will be a SOFIA Winter School in Köln\n\n\n\n\n\nVeranstaltungsdatum: \n\n\n10. – 14. Februar 2014 08:00 Uhr\n\n\n\n\n\nFocus of the Winter School\n\nThe first SOFIA winter school is intended to bring together young astronomers, scientists, and\nexperienced SOFIA users from the German community at a 3-4 day meeting dealing with SOFIA\nrelevant astrophysics of the interstellar medium.\nThe winter school is organized by the DFG Schwerpunkt-Programm \n\nPhysics of the Interstellar Medium\n and the DFG Sonderforschungsbereich SFB 956  \n\nConditions and Impact of Star Formation\n .  \nThe workshop will include lectures on the physics of the interstellar medium (ISM), such as\nbasics of spectroscopy, dust polarimetry, and the dynamics of the ISM, but also practical courses\ntargeting proposal preparation soft skills and preparation/simulation of observations.
